The concessionaire company that had introduced check-in services for domestic flyers at three stations on June 8 after missing several deadlines, would, however, make the service available for international fliers at Shivaji Stadium and New Delhi stations only.

"The facility will not be available at the Dhaula Kuan station as international check-in requires luggage check-in facility which not available at the station," said a Reliance Infrastructure spokesperson.

"The international check-in service will help the international passengers avoid long queues at the airport," said Anil P Gupta, president Reliance Infrastructure.
Earlier, the company had plans to start check-in facilities for both domestic as well as international flyers together, but it failed to procure requisite permissions from different agencies.

While domestic check-in started on June 8, 2011, the company failed to keep its promise of providing similar facilities for international flyers within a "couple of months".

"Air India will start facilitating their customers by the international service from Thursday. Soon Kingfisher and Jet Airways are also likely to start offering check-in facilities to their flyers," said a spokesperson of the company.

International flyers will have to check in minimum two-and-half hours and maximum eight hours prior to their flight schedules at the Metro stations.
