Chidambaram to visit Ahmedabad tomorrow

Home minister P Chidambaram will visit Ahmedabad on Wednesaday leading a team of union ministers as part of the UPA government's outreach programme.

During the day-long visit, Chidambaram, law minister Salman Khurshid and information and broadcasting minister Ambika Soni will interact with the regional media and brief them about various welfare programmes of the government which had completed eight years in power.

The Union ministers, all part of the GoM on Media and belonging to the Congress party, will also have interactions with local party leaders.

However, so far no meeting has been fixed between Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and any of the Union ministers.

Interestingly, when the GoM on Media visited Bhopal, Chidambaram had a meeting with Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The GoM on Media had already visited Mumbai, Bangalore and Bhopal.
