CM asks metro to maintain traffic flow

The Sheila Dikshit government has asked the Delhi Metro to ensure little disruption to the flow of traffic during construction on the busy corridor connecting Central Secretariat and Kashmere Gate. HT reports.

The Sheila Dikshit government has asked the Delhi Metro to ensure little disruption to the flow of traffic during construction on the busy corridor connecting Central Secretariat and Kashmere Gate.

The CM stressed the need for smooth flow of traffic on the stretch on Friday when she visited site of the Mandi House Metro station. She also discussed the progress of the project with Mangu Singh, chief of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, and other directors.

Dikshit praised the DMRC for its efficiency. "The work done by the DMRC has helped put Delhi on the global platform in the transport sector," she said. "Congestion at ITO has come down because of proper planning by the DMRC," Dikshit added.
