After the meetings, Shinde said several decisions had been taken to improve the security of women. He said he would announce them on Thursday.
"We reviewed the law and order situation. Security of people and women is our prime concern. I have directed the police to expedite pending criminal cases," said Shinde.
Chief Dikshit said she conveyed to the home minister that the Centre must do something so that people feel secure and that the police had to be people friendly. "There should be perceptible change in police's attitude," she said. Lieutenant Governor Khanna said he discussed how to improve security in Delhi and, in particular, ensure safety of women.
