Residents living in areas under the jurisdiction of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) might be spared paying hefty property tax this year.
Residents living in areas under the jurisdiction of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) might be spared paying hefty property tax this year.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit called a meeting on Thursday to discuss the property tax issue with residents and the civic body's officials.
According to the Resident Welfare Association of Bengali market in Central Delhi, the CM has assured them the rates will be revised. A decision regarding the same will be taken within 10 days.
Residents of Bengali market and Gold links had complained about the new, high property tax rates implemented by the NDMC.
The residents’ main grouse has been that NDMC is levying a far greater housing tax than the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
“If Delhi is one it should have only one set of tax structure,” said Pravin Gupta, a resident.
