Councillor arrested for double murder

Gujjar has been charged with Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and will be produced in court on Wednesday. He is accused of hiring contract killers to eliminate two of his business rivals.
"We interrogated Gujjar on Monday and all evidences proved his connection with the murder case. We will try to seek police remand for him," said deputy commissioner of police (south) Hamid Akhtar.
Meanwhile, hired contract killers Naveen Kasana (25) and Udaiveer Singh (24), who shot dead Rajkumar and Dharmender Tanwar near Bhondsi, were sent to jail on Tuesday after five days of police remand, said police commissioner SS Deswal.
According to the police, Gujjar was asked to appear before the investigating team on Sunday. "I was informed about this development. I will co-operate with the police," the councillor had said earlier.
Police officials said both Gujjar as well as those who had died had a criminal past and had an old enmity.
The contract killers were arrested by the Delhi Police last Thursday and brought by the Gurgaon police on transit remand.
The accused revealed to the Delhi police during interrogation that they were hired by Gujjar.
