As part of a sustained action for little over last one month, Delhi Traffic officials cracked down on those violating the entry restrictions by various means like forging permit documents and/or misusing the permission. It was found that in four cases, violators had forged the documents in the name of previous official granting permission, DCP Traffic (Northern Range) RK Pande said.
Four criminal cases have been registered and seven persons arrested in this connection, he said.
Further, entry permits of 25 other vehicles; mostly light goods vehicles were cancelled as these were found to misuse the permission. For example, two vehicles permitted to carry milk and milk products and two others allowed to carry newspapers and magazines, were found to carry liquor.
“We have cancelled permits of all these vehicles and also blacklisted them so that they are unable to get renewed permissions,” Pande said.
