"The internal matters are internal matters for India and they have been examined. As far as we are concerned, the Games did take place and were a success," British minister of state for commonwealth lord David Howell told reporters here.

The minister was asked how Britain viewed the entire issue of the alleged scam as a participant, on the sidelines of an event at the Indian Council of World Affairs.

Howell said these "issues are really internal matters. I have been questioned about them in the House of Lords in London time to time and I have always said that these are the matters you (India) are examining."

Asked about the preparations for the London Olympics scheduled to be held in July-August next year, he said the preparations were on in full swing there.
