Decision on Rahul as PM is Congress' prerogative, says Mamata

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today said it is the Congress' prerogative to decide whether Rahul Gandhi should be made the Prime Minister.

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said it is the Congress' prerogative to decide whether Rahul Gandhi should be made the Prime Minister.

"I love this (Gandhi) family. I had good relations with Rajiv Gandhi and have good relations with Soniaji, Rahul and Priyanka," Mamata said when asked whether she agreed with Congress leader Digvijay Singh on making Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister.

"It is an internal matter of the Congress. It is the Congress party's choice. The majority will decide....if they allow it, as a partner we will support the UPA government," she said.
