About 200 delegates from 71 Commonwealth nations have gathered in the city to attend the General Assembly, where —among other things—they will take a status report of Games-related projects and take stock of overall preparations.

The delegates would be visiting the Games Village and the different competition venues on Thursday and Friday.

Malawi's delegates Oscar Kanjula and Floriano Messey who also arrived in the city on Wednesday said their nation would have its biggest contingent ever for the Commonwealth Games.

“India's tradition of hospitality is amazing and people are welcoming. We are looking forward to Delhi Games,” said Kanjula.
