Delhi continues to swelter, hot weekend ahead

The sweltering heat will continue in Delhi on Friday with the maximum temperature expected to touch 42 degrees Celsius and the weekend is likely to be hotter, a weather official said.

"The days will get hotter. We are expecting the temperature to cross 42 degrees during the weekend," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The minimum temperature was 28.4 degrees, one degree below average.

The maximum temperature recorded on Thursday was 41 degrees, one notch above average.

No rains are expected though the humidity level has gone down.

"The sky will remain clear for a couple of days more," he said.
