The hearing was supposed to be held in a fast-track court in Saket.

Court proceedings were halted for more than an hour after Mukesh, brother of accused Ram Singh, who allegedly committed suicide earlier this month, was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital.

Special public prosecutor Dayan Krishnan informed special judge Yogesh Khanna about Mukesh’s hospitalisation.

The accused’s counsel expressed concern about Mukesh’s health and wanted permission for a private doctor to examine him but the court turned the proposal down.
