The programme was awarded the medals by Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) in its annual conference held at Malta yesterday, Delhi Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta said here today.

Mission Convergence was initiated by the government in the year 2008 to provide various services and facilities to the poor and downtrodden under one roof.

The programme got the CAPAM International Innovations award for providing efficient services to the citizens as well as for use of technology in public services.

The programme also received a gold medal for excellence in governance, innovations and management in public administration category.

Mehta, who heads the Mission Convergence programme, said there were 150 entries from various organisations of the Commonwealth countries and Mission Convergence.

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit expressed her happiness over recognition given to Mission Convergence.

In her message, Dikshit said it was a great honour for Delhi as Mission Convergence programme has won first position out of 150 entries from several Commonwealth nations.
