In fact, since 2005, the civic agency has appointed only three employees in the posts reserved for SCs and five in posts for STs, official sources said.

During the last three years, the NDMC-financed Navyug schools in the city in the reserved category have done no direct recruitment.

At present, two posts meant for Scheduled Castes and one for Scheduled Tribes in the Group-B job category were lying vacant in NDMC schools. In the Group-C category, the number is 14 and six, respectively, the sources said.

In the schools run by Navyug School Education Society, an autonomous body which is fully financed by the NDMC, there are 33 vacancies for SCs and 19 for STs. The posts include those of Post-Graduate Teachers and Trained Graduate Teachers.

During the last three years, only two employees of NSES schools got benefit of reservation policy when two departmental candidates of SC category were promoted in 2005-06.
