Director (operations), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Raj Kumar said a team of engineers along with the engineers of Siemens — the company that has installed the signal system on Dwarka-Noida line — are analysing the voice logs between the team train operators and control centre and are reviewing the operation strategy to ensure such failures have minimum impact on train operations.

He said the review was likely to take four-five days and the engineers would suggest remedial measures in a fortnight's time.

"In such large and complex system of metro operations such failures are impossible to rule out. We just want to ensure that there is little impact on train services and the commuters are not inconvenienced," Kumar said.

"Small technical failures are common. The impact of this snag was felt more because of its location, which was close to big interchange stations of Rajiv Chowk and Yamuna Bank," he added.

It took Delhi Metro more than six hours to identify and rectify failure of a track circuit between Pragati Maidan and Mandi House metro stations on Thursday. The snag caused massive delays during peak morning hours.

According to Kumar, the problem in a component called 'stellar card' did not allow the track circuit to communicate the distance and gap of the train on that stretch with other trains.
