Drunk driving: relief to youth

A 24-year-old student, who had been sentenced to two days in jail for drunken driving, had his term reduced by a sessions court on Tuesday. The court of district and sessions judge Justice Deepa Sharma reduced his punishment after the youth said he had learnt a lesson and quit drinking.

The court of district and sessions judge Justice Deepa Sharma reduced his punishment after the youth said he had learnt a lesson and quit drinking.

"The accused has learnt a lesson as he has submitted that he has stopped drinking ," the court said.
