DU organises moot court competition

The Supreme Court judge who sentenced Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab to death on Friday told law students of various universities participating in the 9th K K Luthra international moot court competition to be truthful while practising the legal profession.

Justice Ranjana Desai, who inaugurated the competition at Campus Law Centre at Delhi University, said, “There is no substitute to hard work.”

The competition had participants from 54 different universities and institutions of India as well as of UK, USA, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The topic of the moot court was “Narcotics, trial by media and defence entrapment.”

The George Washington University Law School, USA and Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, Delhi University had jointly organised “The advocacy workshop” on Friday.

The competition will conclude on 20th January and the final round will be judged by three sitting judges of high court.
