A second-year visually challenged Delhi University student was found dead inside his college hostel room on Tuesday.

A second-year visually challenged Delhi University student was found dead inside his college hostel room on Tuesday. The deceased, Mukesh Kumar Baghel (20), a Hindi Honours student at Hans Raj College in North Campus was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his room. The police suspect it to be a case of murder as his hands had been tied.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), Sagarpreet Hooda, said, “He was hanging from a nylon rope and his hands were also tied with the same. The injuries look homicidal. We are not ruling out murder.

Initial investigations revealed that the room was not ransacked and there was no sign of forced entry. “We cannot ascertain it before the post-mortem,” Hooda said.
