The accused, identified as Mukesh Kumar, a former village head of Wazirpur in Rajasthan and his accomplice Moti Lal, had gone to invite Minister of State for Finance Namo Narain Meena for a wedding, when they were apprehended at Gate No. 2 of North Block by CISF personnel around 2:30 pm on Thursday.

The two accused could not provide any license or documents to prove the existence of the cartridges; so they were arrested.

“They told us that they were carrying a wedding card for Meena,” said Rohit Katiyar, spokesperson, CISF.

Kumar and Lal were caught after cartridges were found in the former’s bag during the X-Ray baggage checking at the Finance Ministry’s entrance.

“They did not have a license and could not explain the presence of cartridges either,” said Katiyar. The CISF handed over Kumar and Lal to Delhi Police.
