The Commonwealth Games have got the first casualty - the Durga Puja celebrations in the city.

On Monday, the Delhi Police informed various puja committees in CR Park that they would not be able to provide them adequate security and asked the organisers to keep it a "low key affair".
The first two days of Durga Puja coincide with the last two days of the Games. CR in South Delhi hosts 11 puja festivals, including five big ones.
The organisers also agreed. "We have decided that the pujas will be a low-key affair," said P.K. Roy, one of the organisers at CR Park.
The police had also suggested that all the Pujas be clubbed to save on manpower. At least half of the 80,000-plus strong work force of Delhi Police will be on Games duty.
"It is very unfortunate that the authorities did not take into account the festival dates before deciding on the Games," said Roy. There will be no functions on the first two days of the puja celebrations.
