Among these personalities were four NAC members Aruna Roy, Deep Joshi, AK Shiva Kumar and Farah Naqvi, besides academicians from JNU, TISS and DU.

Opposing the idea of replacing foodgrains under the Public Distribution System (PDS) with cash transfer, the appeal from the experts read: "The PDS is a vital source of economic security and nutrition for millions of people…"
