Police made these promises in a pamphlet distributed among protesters outside its headquarters demanding the removal of city police commissioner Neeraj Kumar in connection with the rape of the girl allegedly by a 22-year-old man in a building in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar area on April 15.

Assuring speedy justice for the victim, police said the accused will be tried in a fast track court.

"The matter will be put on fast track court so that we can have a quick decision and the culprit is punished," the pamphlet said.

Referring to the action taken against police personnel, it said, "The assistant commissioner of police who misbehaved with a lady protester along with SHO and investigating officer of Ganghi Nagar were suspended.

"Fast track inquiry will be held against guilty police officers and punishment will be meted out to them as per rules and regulations," it added.

Delhi Police also sought suggestions from the public on the issue.

ACP B S Alhawat was suspended after he slapped a woman protester two days ago at the Swami Dayanand Hospital. SHO Dharampal and investigating officer Mahavir Singh faced same action for dereliction of duty pending inquiry against charges that they refused to file an FIR on time in connection with the rape and laxity in searching for the girl after a missing complaint was received.

The girl's family had also alleged that a policeman had offered them Rs 2000 for hushing up the case.
