Feeder bus ticket rates slashed

From Thursday commuters will have to pay only Rs 5 for travelling up to 4 km by the metro feeder, while till Wednesday the minimum fare was Rs 7.

Delhi Metro has slashed the ticket rate for its feeder buses by Rs 2.

From Thursday commuters will have to pay only Rs 5 for travelling up to 4 km by the metro feeder, while till Wednesday the minimum fare was Rs 7.

"This is for the first time we have made a fare structure at par with Delhi transport department. The state transport authority has agreed to the cut after approval by chief minister Shiela Dikshit,"

said spokesperson of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

According to the new fare structure for feeder bus service, one would have to pay R10 for travelling between 4 and 10 km and R15 for travelling more than 10 km.

Presently feeder service is available on 17 routes across Delhi.

These include Shastri Park Metro station to Vasundhara Enclave, Vishwa Vidyalaya Metro station to Burari,

Netaji Subhash Place Metro

station to Rohini sector 27, Dwarka sector 10 Metro station to Najafgarh, Mayur Vihar phase 1 to phase 3 among others.

Besides, Haryana Roadways has started feeder services at Sikandarpur Metro station to Kendriya Vihar and Palam Vihar last year.

DTC also runs shuttle bus service on some routes between Chhatarpur and New Delhi railway station, Chhatarpur metro station and Munirka, Qutub Minar Metro station and Badarpur and Qutub Minar Metro station and RK Puram.
