With dense fog continuing to envelop parts of North India, Railways on Monday cancelled seven trains from New Delhi and rescheduled two as more than 65 trains were running late.
With dense fog continuing to envelop parts of North India, Railways on Monday cancelled seven trains from New Delhi and rescheduled two as more than 65 trains were running late.
The cancelled trains include the Patna bound Rajdhani Express, Lucknow bound Shatabdi Express, Howrah bound Poorva Express and Darbhanga bound Swatantrata Sainani Express, said a Northern Railway spokesperson.
He said over 65 trains coming to the city were late, ranging from three hours to a day. Among the trains running late were all the Rajdhanis, Shatabdis and Duronto expresses. Two trains including the North East express to Guwahati and the Andhra Pradesh Express to Hyderabad were rescheduled on Monday morning, the spokesperson said.
Railways have already announced cancellation of about a dozen trains beginning January 20 till January 31 in an attempt to normalise rail traffic.
The spokesperson said helpline numbers have been opened in 10 stations under Northern Railways for the convenience of passengers.
