Four men were arrested for allegedly abducting their friend in reaction to his repeated requests for reimbursement of a property loan in southwest Delhi, police said on Friday.
Identified as Harvinder Kumar Suri, 39, who is in the business of readymade garments, Srikant, 33, a casual labourer, Surender, 39, a sweeper in the MCD and Chaman, 49, also a sweeper, the gang was intercepted at a police picket in Dwarka's sector 3 on Thursday evening, said Anil Kumar Ojha, DCP (southwest).
"Around 9:30 pm, a seemingly suspicious Wagon R car en route to sector 4 was intercepted at which it tried to speed away. However, the patrolling party was able to nab its occupants, one of whom was an injured man, later identified as one Kuldeep, a resident of Uttam Nagar," said DCP Ojha.
Kuldeep told police that Harvinder had taken a loan of R4 lakh in 2009 and deposited the documents of his flat in Hastsal Village as security deposit.
Despite repeated requests, however, he wasn't returning the loaned amount and, on December 6, Harvinder called him near metro pillar number 706 along with the flat's documents.
"When he reached the spot, however, the accused pushed him inside the car and robbed him of the property papers at gun-point," DCP Ojha said.
