Four held for cheating

A Jamia Nagar resident, who allegedly duped even his mother by selling her flat through forged documents, and his four accomplices were arrested on Tuesday by the Patel Nagar police for hatching a plan to rob the nearby house of a property dealer.

The property dealer in question owns the apartment where one of those arrested, Deepak Ahlawat, lived. The property dealer had asked for Rs 10,000 as commission for providing Ahlawat an apartment on rent and allowing him to live there with his girlfriend.

The arrested men have been identified as Miran Rashid Ali alias Shanky, the Jamia Nagar resident, Nem Singh, Bhanu Pratap and Sunil Kumar. Shanky’s accomplices are from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

“It has been learnt that in one of the cheating cases registered at the Jamia Nagar police station, Shanky had sold his mother’s flat using forged documents for Rs 11 lakh. In another case, he had duped his aunt by selling her Chevrolet Beat to someone in Jaipur. He also cheated his close friend Vaibhav in Jaipur,” a senior police officer said.
