Fugitive arrested

A 22-year-old man, who had allegedly escaped from the Sonepat Jail early this year, was arrested from northwest Delhi, the crime branch said on Sunday.

There was a bounty of Rs 25,000 on his head.

Chunu, also known as Attender, was among the eight men who had escaped from the Sonepat jail after drugging jail staff and their co-inmates on the night of January 18.

He was apprehended from Pitampura, where he was to meet his associates on Saturday, Sanjay Kumar Jain, DCP (crime), said.
