"The misery of riot victims can only be understood by a Sikh representative and the Tilak Nagar assembly seat should be spared for SAD. Such dispensation of BJP is imperative for emancipation and rehabilitation of riot victims who have been denied overall justice all these years," said Mohan Singh, chairman of All India Sikh Riots Victim Action Committee.
The committee while expressing their unhappiness with the apathetic attitude of sitting MLA OP Babbar from BJP said that the constituency is home to more than 42.5 per cent of Sikh community and 22,000 widows.
According to sources the SAD has decided to seek 20 seats from the BJP in the Assembly polls.
