GoM meets, extends terms

Holding its first post-Games meeting on Monday, the Group of Ministers on CWG, headed by Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy, extended the tenure of 53 government officials working with the Organising Committee.

Holding its first post-Games meeting on Monday, the Group of Ministers (GoM) on CWG, headed by Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy, extended the tenure of 53 government officials working with the Organising Committee.

Ministry sources said the decision was taken to ensure the officials remained available for investigations being carried out by multiple probe agencies.

The GoM, however, did not discuss the allegations of financial irregularities levelled at various government agencies involved in Games preparations, with Reddy saying the GoM doesn't deal with accountability and scrutiny.
