Govt reconstitutes Exec Comm of Gandhi Smriti, Darshan Samiti

Government has reconstituted the Executive Committee of the Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti and nominated Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee as its Chairperson.

Government has reconstituted the Executive Committee of the Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti and nominated Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee as its Chairperson.

S N Subba Rao, a fellow of Gandhi Peace Foundation, Rajashree Birla, Anil Nauriya and the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture are the other members of the Committee, sources said.

Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti was formed in 1984 by the merger of Gandhi Darshan at Rajghat and Gandhi Smriti at 5, Tees January Marg as an autonomous body under the Culture Ministry.

The basic aim and objective of the Samiti is to propagate the life, mission and thought of Mahatma Gandhi through various socio-educational and cultural programmes.
