While the top priority would be to replace the ordinance on criminal laws to deal with sexual offences against women with a new bill, some of the other pending bills to reign in violence against women such as the Protection of Women Against Sexual Harassment at Workplace and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Amendment bill are also in the pipeline.

The Protection of Women against Sexual Harassment bill was passed in Lok Sabha in September 2012 and is pending in the Rajya Sabha.

The Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Amendment Bill which will make indecent portrayal of women punishable, was introduced in Rajya Sabha last December.

Besides these, the WCD ministry want to push two other crucial bills to ensure women safety.
