Carrying placards and shouting slogans like "people before profit", the protestors, including women, assembled at Vijay Chowk this morning.

The protesters also climbed some of the lamp posts and tried to unfurl banners. They were detained by police. The Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Bill, 2010, is listed for consideration and passing in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. Greenpeace is highly critical of the bill.

They were against the cap on the compensation to be paid by the operator in case of an accident.
