Former BJP Delhi president Vijender Gupta along with NGO Sampurna said the birthday of the December 16 rape victim, May 10, is a benchmark for Indian women and should be declared as ‘women security day’. Gupta said her birthday symbolises the bravery of a common woman in Delhi. “By declaring May 10, 2013, as women security day, we would be able to give a strong message that security for women is priority,” he said.
