A senior corporate executive, who had gone missing from Gurgaon on August 2, returned home in a dramatic fashion late on Saturday night, with bruises all over his body, his hair and eyebrows partially shaved off and wearing just his trousers.

Deepak Mendiratta, 32, the chief operating officer of the manpower consultancy firm Adroit Quest, returned to his DLF City house looking sleepy yet traumatised, after having disappeared for 10 days. He is now recuperating at Umkal Hospital in Gurgaon.
“At around 12.00 pm on Saturday, Deepak returned, barely able to walk. He was unable to speak and looked tired and scared,” his cousin Vimal said.
Police have not ruled out the possibility Mendiratta having been abducted. ACP (East) Sumit Kumar said: “Since Deepak has not returned in a normal condition, we are waiting for the doctors to declare him fit enough to make a statement and reveal the entire story.”
But sources said the police also did not rule out the possibility that Mendiratta could have staged the abduction himself to collect ransom money since he was facing a financial crisis. His family, however, claim no ransom call was made for his release.
The police had filed a case of abduction after they found his Honda City car completely burnt in DLF City III off NH-8 a day after he disappeared.
