Fantoosh, who runs a snacks shop in Jajmal Sarai area in Mehrauli, had asked Santosh to get him a crate of eggs.
On his way to the egg shop, Santosh was caught in the blast in the Mehrauli flower market. He died on the spot.

In fact, Santosh was closest to the tiffin bomb, which was reportedly dropped by two men riding a black
motorcycle.

“He saw a packet falling off the motorcycle and even called out to the two men. When the boy tried to pick the packet, smoke started emanating from it and within no time it went off,” said Vinod Khattar, an eyewitness.

Santosh’s family belongs to Lakhi Sarai district in Bihar and had migrated to Delhi a few years ago.

“He was running temperature in the morning and had even missed school. When mama (maternal uncle) asked him to get eggs he got up immediately. I don’t have the courage to tell my mother that he is no more,” said Bambam Kumar, Santosh’s elder brother.
