The caveat was filed by Parekh and Company on behalf of RIL.

NTPC is expected to file a petition challenging last month's order of the Bombay High Court that allowed RIL to amend its plea in its dispute with NTPC.

RIL had through the proposed amendment brought on record the affidavit filed by the Centre in the ongoing RIL-RNRL case on gas supply to buffer its argument that its bid for NTPC tender stands frustrated due to the government's policy.

RIL had bid to supply gas to NTPC's Kawas and Jhanor projects for 17 years at USD 2.34 per mmBtu. It, however, did not sign the contract and the matter is pending in Bombay High Court for resolution.

The government had recently fixed the gas price from RIL's KG-D6 fields at USD 4.2 per mmBtu and argued that the contractor (RIL) cannot fix price or decide utility of the gas.
