After the CBSE results were declared on Monday, the Delhi University (DU) Student's Welfare department has been flooded with calls and questions about the new admission policy.

The DU helpline has received around 500 calls from students and their parents regarding the admission policy to be followed this time around. Most students are still not clear about the absence of pre-admission forms, this time around.

"We got calls from across the country. Students are still not able to understand the new procedure. Most questions are about that," said Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, deputy dean, Students' Welfare.

Meanwhile, Tuteja says, to understand the new admission policy, three things should be kept in mind.

"If the students fall within any reserved category — SC/ST, Sports, ECA — then they have to fill up a separate form and contact the concerned department, from May 28 onward. If there is a separate entrance test for a course — like CATE or Journalism Entrance Test — then their forms should be duly filled within the stipulated dates. Also, for St Stephen's College and Jesus and Mary College, separate forms have to be filled," he said.
