IGNOU starts new centre

To hone the vocational skills of employees in firms and training of prospective recruits, IGNOU has started a new centre called the 'Centre for Corporate Education, Training and Consultancy'.

To hone the vocational skills of employees in firms and training of prospective recruits, IGNOU has started a new centre called the 'Centre for Corporate Education, Training and Consultancy'. The centre will develop programmes on corporate education consistent with the requirements of the corporate sector and industry, said an IGNOU spokesperson.

It will educate human resources, boost their capacity and train themselves on-the-job in an industry set-up. It will also develop insights into corporate management, governance practices, strategy formulation and related law, besides their delivery mechanism among others, he said. It will also deliver consultancy services to state governments, state open universities, private universities, banking and financial services, he said. In this regard, IGNOU has already entered into number of MoUs with ICAI, ICSI, ICWA. It is also exploring collaborations with organisations like BSE, NSE, SEBI and other organisations to foster research opportunities for corporates and make the centre a success, he said.
