During the bilateral exercise, the two sides will practice and learn from each other's experience in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations in urban and rural set-ups, they said.

"The scope of the exercise is to exchange doctrinal concepts in these fields of the both sides," officials said.

In the exercise, the Indian side will be represented by an Infantry Group comprising elements from the Bihar Regiment and others and from the British side, personnel from the 19 Brigade would be there.

The exercise is a follow-up of a similar exercise codenamed Ex Sheer held last year in India.

India and the UK have been engaging each other in Indradhanush series of aerial exercise and Konkan series of naval wargames.

Meanwhile, India and France will have their first army-to-army exercise in October in Chaubatia, Uttarakhand.

"The first army exercise between the two sides would be held between October 9 to 22," the army said.

The two sides have so far been engaging each other in aerial and naval exercises only.
