Four cases of JE, infecting three children and a middle-aged woman, were detected for the first time in the Capital last week. The areas from where the cases were reported include Jahangir Puri, Bawana and Gole Market.

“Samples of the serum have been sent for testing and we expect the report in a couple of days. We also carried out surveillance of the human population in the affected areas. Fortunately, no more cases have been reported,” said Anshu Prakash, principal secretary (health), Delhi government.
