Journalism entrance conducted smoothly

Most students found the exam easy and straightforward.

“The exam was very straightforward. The first section was objective, where we were asked about current affairs and general knowledge. The second section had subjective questions. Both sections were pretty simple,” said Ria Jethi, who appeared for the exam at Lady Shri Ram College.

For the first time this year, the university conducted a common examination for the entrance for journalism.

“There was enough time to complete the examination. For anyone who has been reading the newspapers for the last two years would have been able to attempt the first section easily. The second section is subjective so I don't know how I have performed over there,” said Mayank Chaudhary, who appeared for the exam at Maharaja Agrasen College.

The course is offered in five colleges of the university: Maharaja Agrasen College, Kalindi College, Delhi College for Arts and Commerce, Lady Shri Ram College and Kamla Nehru College. The total number of seats is 181.

“The exam was conducted smoothly and there were no glitches. No instances of using unfair means were reported,” said a university official.

The number of applications received this year was lesser than expected. While colleges were expecting more than 5,000 students to apply, only 2,000 did.
