Karachi named 7th 'least liveable city' in global survey

Karachi in Pakistan has been rated as one of 'least liveable cities' in the world, a latest survey has revealed.

Karachi in Pakistan has been rated as one of 'least liveable cities' in the world, a latest survey has revealed.

According to the Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Liveability Survey, Karachi, ranked 134 on the list, has been rated 40.9% (100 being ideal) in overall rating, with 45.8% for healthcare and 51.8% for infrastructure.

The ongoing unrest in the Middle East saw Tehran dropping 132th position with a liveability score of 45.8%.

Zimbabwe capital Harare was rated as the world's least liveable city, ranked at 140 position with 38.2% liveability score.

Others bottom cities in the survey included Dhaka, Abidjan, Douala, Tripoli, Algiers, Lagos, Port Moresby.

The global liveability report surveys 140 locations around the world to assess the best or the worst living conditions.
