Kazakh prez condemns 26/11 attacks

Condemning the Mumbai attacks, Kazakhstan has asked for intensifying global cooperation in fighting terrorism, HT reports.

Condemning the Mumbai attacks, Kazakhstan has asked for intensifying global cooperation in fighting terrorism. President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who is on a four-day visit, will be the chief guest at the Republic Day parade.

“President Nazarbayev condemned the terrorist attacks in Mumbai and reiterated the need for intensifying global cooperation in combating terrorism. He also conveyed assurance that Kazakhstan stood firmly with India in dealing with the scourge of global terrorism…” the joint declaration stated.

Kazakhstan has also reiterated support for India’s candidature as permanent member of the UN Security Council.

New Delhi has appreciated Kazakhstan’s support in the meeting of the NSG, which took the decision to enable India to resume full civil nuclear cooperation with the international community.
