The first incident took place in north east Delhi’s Karawal Nagar on Wednesday morning when a speeding Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus hit a 23-year-old man on a bike.

Ghaziabad resident Pushpendra Kumar was on his way to office when the accident happened around 6 am. Pushpendra’s younger brother Pawan was a witness to the incident. Pawan later told police that Pushpendra had dropped him near Jawahar Nagar on his motorcycle.

Soon after this, Pawan noticed a speeding UP Roadways bus hitting Pushpendra’s motorcycle from behind. “Pushpendra was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” a police officer said.

Enraged over the accident, a group of local residents beat up the errant bus driver, before pelting stones on the killer vehicle and setting it on fire. They blocked traffic on the road for some time, causing massive traffic congestion in the area.

The driver, Kali Charan, was arrested by Karawal Nagar police.

In the second accident, two persons were killed after their motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle at north Delhi’s Civil Lines on Tuesday.
