The raids started on Friday after reports of shortage of cooking gas in several parts of the city and its diversion for commercial purposes. Foods and Civil Supplies Minister Haroon Yusuf on Thursday said he would write a letter to the Union Minister of Petroleum and recommend the cancellation of the license of the vendors who were found to be indulging in illegal trade.

He said inspections and raids would continue in the next few days. On Friday last, the minister had constituted 100 teams to check on illegal trade of LPG.
