Man arrested for forgery

A person, who is claimed to be the friend of one of the accused in the DDA flat allotment case, was arrested for allegedly using forged documents for opening a bank account.

A person, who is claimed to be the friend of one of the accused in the DDA flat allotment case, was arrested in New Delhi for allegedly using forged documents for opening a bank account.

However, police said he has no links with the irregularities in the allotment of DDA flats for which a draw of lots was conducted on December 16 last year.

Drawl had allegedly used fake identity card and forged documents for opening a bank account, police sources said, adding he was a friend of Deepak Kumar, who was arrested in connection with the DDA flat allotment fraud.

There was no official confirmation on Drawl's links with Kumar, who blew the lid on the plan of a cartel of property dealers to corner DDA flats earmarked for SC/STs by applying in the names of people belonging to these communities.

When contacted, Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said Dinesh was arrested but has no connection with the DDA case. He was arrested from Dwarka.

A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
