According to the police, Bablu, who goes by his first name, shouted at two bikers as they sped past him when he was standing near a shop. The accused have been identified as Ballu and Ramu.

"They stopped and had a heated argument with the victim. The bikers were local men and returned with about ten villagers and started beating him. By the time the police reached the spot, the attackers had fled," said a senior police officer requesting anonymity.

"Bablu, a supervisor with Pearl Global Export, was unconscious since Saturday. We could have established the reason behind the attack only after we would have spoken to him," the officer added.

An eyewitness told the police that Bablu got into an altercation with the youth.

According to doctors, Bablu has suffered head injuries.

"He was beaten by iron rods or some object similar to that," said a doctor. A case of murder has been registered at the Sector 10 police station.

A hunt is on to arrest the accused.
