The Delhi Police have arrested the husband of a 22-year-old woman, who was found murdered at a Paharganj hotel.

Police said the accused had suspected that his wife was having an extra marital affair and killed her in a fit of anger.
"Mohammed Rashid, 30, was arrested from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh," DC Srivastava, additional commissioner of police (central) said. On October 2, Shazia, 22, was found lying on the bed in the room of Hotel Karan Palace. The post-mortem report confirmed she died due to strangulation.
The woman was identified through CCTV footage and family members of the victim were called in for further details. Rashid was identified as the prime suspect and interrogated. During questioning, Rashid told police that he suspected that his wife has developed illicit relations with someone.
"They used to have regular fights over this. Two months back, Shazia left her husband's house and had gone to live with her parents. It was then that Rashid decided to kill her," Srivastava added. He called Shazia to discuss her alleged illicit relationship at Seelampur metro station.
From there, they went to Paharganj. "At 8pm, they had a heated argument and Rashid strangulated her with a pillow," Srivastava said.
