The Delhi Police have arrested four persons, including a 30-year-old man, for robbing his in-laws’ house in northeast Delhi’s Welcome.

Police said the incident took place on the afternoon of January 1, when four persons broke into the house of one Shanno and robbed her of cash and jewellery at gun-point.
During investigations, it was found that Shanno’s son-in-law, Tasleem, had visited her house along with his wife Razia on the day the robbery happened.
The police got suspicious when Tasleem’s statement showed several discrepancies. On further inquiry, he broke down and confessed to his involvement in the crime.
He was held, following which three others involved in the crime were also arrested.
“During interrogation, Tasleem revealed that he hatched the plan after seeing a great amount of cash and gold articles at the complainant’s house,” a senior police officer said.
He planned the robbery seven to eight days before the actual crime with his elder brother Azeem, brother-in-law Rashid and Rashid’s friends Hakim and Shanu.
According to the plan, Tasleem alongwith his wife Razia paid a visit to the complainant at her house. During the time, he fixed a magnet on the main door of the house, so it would not lock automatically when she closed it,” he further said.
After Taslim left, all three accused, armed with weapons entered and robbed the house.
