Acquitting the 63-year-old man of the charges of raping the woman, additional sessions judge Mahesh Chander Gupta ordered jail term for Delhi resident Sallamuddin for outraging the woman's modesty.
"I am of the opinion that the ends of justice would meet by sentencing convict Sallamuddin to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years...," the judge said, while imposing a fine of Rs. 10,000 on him.
Sallamuddin was arrested by police on a complaint of rape lodged by the woman's husband who said he had contacted Sallamuddin for curing his wife from the effect of evil spirits.
The husband alleged that after coming to his house, Sallamuddin sent him to a nearby temple to bring holy water and in his absence raped his wife.
